based on my "always on" modular synth bed of delay, grains, reverb and glitches. vibe is three stages in series: a tape loop that grabs and mangles the incoming audio, a tempo-synced repeat that dices to your session bpm, and a big plate reverb to smear whatever survives.
put it on your master bus, probably.
drive into a squelching filter, with a pll style micro-loop that grabs and repeats slices whenever the signal crosses a threshold. very tasteful. also features a distortion block that goes from gentle to basically square waves.
enjoy on everything.
hide messages in music, the same way madison avenue used to hide messages in advertising until we decided that was a bad idea. turn any sound into a morse code pattern, or bit data, or just paste in any numbers you want and it'll make something.
use responsibly, or don't. whatever.
audio destruction masquerading as a step sequencer. draw into the lanes, adjust parameters, ruin whatever you've got going. pretty simple - use it as a loop or crank the mutate knob for random shit every repeat. lots of toys to play with here, but also just spam "reseed" and it'll give you a random set every time.
unzip, then copy the .component to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components and the .vst3 to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3. restart your daw — logic may need a moment to rescan.
windows: unzip, copy the .vst3 folder to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 and rescan. the zip also has a standalone .exe.
au covers logic + garageband; vst3 covers ableton, reaper, bitwig, fl studio, studio one, cubase. no aax — pro tools users can wrap them with blue cat patchwork. signed + notarized, so macos opens them without complaint.
windows builds are 64-bit vst3, unsigned — daws load them fine; windows may warn the first time you open the standalone.
free for everything — commercial or not, no credit needed. the code is open source under gplv3: faust dsp (plain juce for slice and glitch) in a juce wrapper, one shared ui kit. source is here.
